Synopsis
At 26, shy and slightly awkward office worker Nagisa Amami books a solo trip specifically to push herself out of her shell. She's shy, a little awkward, and not exactly used to adventure. Then she meets Sōshi Sazanami, tattooed, yakuza-connected, and oddly gentlemanly, who asks her to pretend to be his wife for one evening. She says yes, and things get complicated from there. The setup sounds like a classic romance premise, but the organized crime backdrop adds a layer of tension that keeps it from feeling like a standard love story. Nagisa's reserved personality plays off Sōshi's confidence in ways that actually feel earned rather than just opposites-attract shorthand. The animation from Studio Hokiboshi puts real work into character expressions, which matters a lot in a story that lives and dies on emotional beats. If you watched Sweet Punishment: I'm the Guard's Personal Pet or Yubisaki kara Honki no Netsujou and enjoyed the slow-burn tension between a cautious woman and a man from a dangerous world, this hits a similar note. It's an 8-episode ONA adapted from a josei web manga, so the pacing is fairly compact, no extended buildup before things actually get interesting.
