Rewatching this, it's hard to say anything as everything in the show can become a spoiler. Anyway, there's a lot of stuff introduced that nothing might not be making sense but trust me it will.

The episode begins with a chilling scene of a body being dumped in the ocean, then shifts into slice-of-life taxi rides laced with witty dialogue, subtle unease, and clever foreshadowing. If you enjoy mystery built through character and conversation, this is elite storytelling.

The design of the city and characters are just wonderful! I love the cozy art style that comes with it. In terms of the plot I like how there is immediately more than one to look into between the supporting characters and the main character. Looking forward to the rest!

This opens chill but something’s OFF immediately—Odokawa talking like everything’s normal while nothing feels normal 😂 dialogue carries hard. It’s quiet, but it pulls you in without trying. 🚕

It starts deceptively slow, just a walrus taxi driver making small talk with passengers. But the writing is sharp enough that you're hooked before you realize it. A missing girl gets mentioned almost in passing, and suddenly the whole thing has a pulse.

This pilot episode is one of the rare case where it can hook you immediately, a slow burn set up that prioritize character over spectacle. If you enjoy weird but familiar setting of daily life this is one of the best story telling series in anime history, Cheers~

This one will catch you off guard. The visuals might look like an anime fable with the use of animals as characters, but the themes are very heavy. The banters will make you think about how we live and interact in our modern digital world now.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the first of thirteen episodes, 'The Eccentric Driver' is pure foundation—introducing the cast, the tone, and the deceptively ordinary world that will spiral into a layered mystery. No prior context is needed; this is your entry point. It feeds directly into Episode 2, 'How To Spend a Long Night,' where the personal secrets hinted at here begin surfacing with sharper edges.
