This is the payoff of the last episode, EP4 is the propaganda, to lead the audience to side with Seii. But this episode shows the dismantling of that propaganda.

I do think the anime is really unfriendly to anyone who hasn't studied 3 kingdom or things like 36 stratagem. As a Chinese born having those knowledge, I can see myself struggling to immediately connect what the story is pointing towards, it's hard for me to imagine people who have never heard of them understanding most references.,

Heavy episode packed with information from beginning to end. It might make you feel sleepy and lose track due to many crucial details for the next episode. Missing this episode will make the next one harder to understand. Prepare yourself to study history and economics a lot in this one!

Kaku laughing in that reporter's face was so brutal and he really turned the whole room around just by making that guy look like a total clown

Calling the Sei leader a vengeance driven brat was so cold and Kaku really just dismantled her whole image and he is definitely carrying Yamato right now

The Bitter Meat Stratagem explanation was fascinating to me and it is wild how the Taira family is so blinded by greed that they would walk right into a trap

Kaku laughing in that guys face was the highlight for me and he really just pulled out a drawing and ruined that spies whole career

Studio Kafka is really killing it with these night scenes, especially on the bridge, and the way they use that woodblock print style makes the atmosphere feel so much heavier

That Tonotsugu kid is so annoying. Seeing a general with that much experience get demoted by a brat is actually infuriating for the whole army
