It is actually crazy how much the tone has changed since the beginning of the series, because now Sasuke is just straight up trying to murder Naruto at the waterfall. The part where he talks about his dream being in the past felt so heavy and seeing Naruto refuse to give up even after being beaten down was a lot to take in.
