My skin was crawling seeing Obito just lurking in the shadows while everything went wrong for the rain orphans since he was pulling the strings the whole time

It makes you feel so bad for Yahiko because they really just wanted peace through talking, and knowing how it all ends for them is just painful to see

That new guy, Daibutsu, really had me surprised when he just threw himself at Tobi and Zetsu; I just met him, but he totally showed what it means to be a shinobi. It's wild to think about how many brave, nameless ninja are out there willing to take on impossible fights for the alliance.

I forgot how terrifying Nagato looked when he summoned that statue for the first time and seeing his rage take over was such a massive moment

The way Nagato looks right after Yahiko dies is haunting and you can see the exact moment the peace group died and Pain was born

Danzo and Hanzo's betrayal of Yahiko was just so sickening to watch, I couldn't believe how easily they crushed his hopes. It really makes me wonder if Nagato ever truly recovered from seeing his friend's pure ideals twisted by such cynical power plays. No wonder he became Pain after experiencing that kind of heartbreak.

You can tell this is filler because of how many old clips they show but getting more of the original group makes the slow parts worth it

Danzo is literally the reason for every single problem in the ninja world and watching him set up Yahiko like that makes you want to reach through the screen

Yahiko’s dream being so easily shattered by those corrupt figures just left me feeling so hollow. I was genuinely gutted seeing how his sincere efforts for peace were totally undermined by their deceit, and it makes me question if anyone truly had good intentions for him.

Those innocent flashbacks of Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan with Jiraiya just absolutely broke me, seeing them so full of hope. It’s wild to think that these are the same children who would go on to become the Akatsuki, and I can't help but wonder if their pain was just too immense for even Jiraiya's teachings to fully overcome.

I can't believe Danzo's meddling with Hanzo completely destroyed the Hidden Rain's chances at real peace; it's so frustrating to see how his self-serving schemes always leave a trail of destruction like this. It makes me wonder if he ever actually cared about anyone but himself.

A heavy sense of dread washed over me during those sweet scenes of Jiraiya training the kids, especially with Nagato's quiet intensity in the background. It made me wonder if Jiraiya ever sensed the tragic path awaiting him, even as he was trying to give them hope.

It was pretty rough watching Daibutsu try his best to help his friends, even if it didn't really work out for them. But honestly, I'm just so unbelievably sick of Danzo being the mastermind behind every single awful thing, and seeing him manipulate Hanzo into betraying the original Akatsuki and completely screw over Yahiko just makes me so mad.

Hanzo was such a total spineless jerk, making the Leaf clean up his mess, and honestly, my blood was boiling watching him. But then Danzo just *did* it, and it really solidified for me how far back his hunger for power goes, even before he was making all those shady moves in the main timeline.

Ugh, I seriously can't stand how Danzo just manipulates those Rain orphans; it makes my blood boil watching him exploit Yahiko and Nagato's genuine desire to help their village, and honestly, it just feels so typical for him to use people like that.

I was just gutted watching Nagato totally lose it and bring out the Gedo Statue after Yahiko died; it's such a dark turn, and it made me wonder if all their dreams of peace were doomed from the start, considering how badly he snapped right there.

Jiraiya was just glowing with pride seeing Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan, and my gut just twisted knowing the dark turns their lives are about to take. It's incredibly unsettling to witness his hopeful face when I know exactly how heartbreaking their story ends, especially since Naruto eventually has to confront who they become.

Nagato pulling out that terrifying statue when his friends were threatened really got to me; the sheer desperation in him to protect them, even after all this time, just highlights how deeply those past tragedies still haunt him and drive his actions as Pain. It honestly makes me wonder if he truly believes this kind of power is the only way to achieve his version of peace.

Gosh, I always love the moody rain in the Hidden Rain, but seeing it pouring like that when things started going south for the trio just made my stomach drop; I was totally dreading whatever bad news was coming their way, and it felt like the weather was just piling on the misery.

That single, cruel trap was such a gut punch, and honestly, seeing Nagato’s whole world crumble because of it absolutely gutted me. It's no wonder he became so twisted and set on such a drastic path; I mean, I'd probably feel completely abandoned by life itself if I went through something like that.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off episode 346's exploration of Obito's psychological descent, 'Creeping Shadow' pivots to the Akatsuki's philosophical roots — examining Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato's original vision for peace before everything fractured. This filler installment bridges the gap between Obito's corruption arc and the upcoming 'The New Akatsuki,' where the organization's transformation from hopeful movement to something far darker takes shape.
