i am so tired of these recap episodes and i just want to get back to the actual war because we have seen this hospital scene a million times already

seeing sasuke so stuck on how naruto beat gaara when he couldnt really makes my heart ache because his obsession with power is just destroying him and his friendships

editing is way better than the disaster we got last week and at least the scenes actually flow together now even if it is just stuff we have already seen

the way it cuts between sasukes failure against itachi and his jealousy of naruto really shows how desperate he was to go to orochimaru even if it was a bad idea

the subtle bond between naruto and sasuke starting to crack during their fight at the hospital was tough to watch, and the focus on their mutual care was interesting

the music during the itachi fight was actually incredible and hearing predator and sasukes destiny again was the only thing that made this recap worth sitting through

Re-watching the hospital rooftop fight feels different with all these new internal monologues, and it kind of makes Sasuke look way more conflicted than he actually was back then. It is nice seeing things from his side for once, but changing his core motivations like that feels like a betrayal of the original story just to fill some time

adding those extra thoughts to the hospital rooftop fight was such a weird choice and it really messes with the vibe sasuke had in the original manga

Ugh, I was so disappointed with how they handled the hospital rooftop fight in this episode; it just didn't have the same punch as the manga, and I couldn't believe how soft Sasuke's voice sounded. It totally messed with my perception of his character after all that build-up.

It's weird because I actually noticed the editing was a little better this week, and the flashbacks were fine, but my brain just kept yelling about how wrong that rooftop fight felt. I remembered it so differently, and these changes really pulled me out of the moment.

I got hit with such whiplash when this turned out to be filler after last week's intensity, though I can't lie, revisiting Itachi and Sasuke's twisted story always pulls me right back in. It makes me wonder just how much deeper their pain goes than we even realize, knowing all that history.

Ugh, I'm so over the anime trying to rewrite Sasuke's past with all these filler scenes, making him look so indecisive during the hospital fight. I totally remember him being completely consumed by rage already, so it just felt off, but man, those unreleased soundtrack tracks like Predator totally gave me serious nostalgia for the earlier days.

The nostalgia from hearing those classic songs again was amazing, but then the complete butchering of Sasuke's internal monologue at the hospital really soured the mood for me. I just can't believe they altered that critical scene; it totally watered down his deep, complicated motivations we'd been following and missed the whole point of his character's internal battle.

Ugh, this whole episode felt like a total drag to me, and honestly, I was so frustrated seeing Sasuke waffle about his choice to leave. It just made him look weak and undermined all that intense resolve he supposedly had before, like, what was the point of all that drama if he's just gonna doubt himself now?

My anticipation for a true Naruto vs. Sasuke brawl was through the roof, which is why it kinda deflated me when their fight turned into another emotional retrospective. I just wanted them to finally let loose without all the internal monologues, and it made me wonder if we'll ever get that satisfying, no-holds-barred clash I've been dreaming of.

Ugh, I was so annoyed that they played that unreleased Sasuke soundtrack and then completely wasted it on an episode that felt like pure filler; it really felt like they were just trying to tease us with something good in an otherwise pointless rehash. I mean, after all the build-up, this just felt like a letdown.

When Naruto and Sasuke kept going back and forth internally, I actually found myself getting pretty irritated; it felt like all that chatter just diluted the raw intensity their rivalry usually has. It genuinely made me question if even *they* remembered what they were truly fighting for, which was a baffling feeling considering their entire history.

Sasuke looking so pitiful in those flashback scenes really messed with my memory of his resolve; I thought his decision to leave for Orochimaru was always a fierce, calculated move, not this desperate flailing. And what was with those unnecessary inner thoughts during the hospital rooftop fight? They completely pulled me out of how focused and intense he was supposed to be in that moment.

Ugh, another filler episode and my patience is definitely wearing thin, but honestly, what was with Sasuke on that rooftop? I just can't wrap my head around him hesitating like that, it feels so out of character after all the lengths he's gone to for power and revenge, like, come on.
ungaikyo_usurper_57's avatar

When I saw those water tank holes, man, it just absolutely crushed me. You could literally feel Sasuke's pride shattering right there, and it made me think about how much he'd always relied on that arrogance, only for Naruto to just... surpass him so completely.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned between 'Rivals' and 'Parting,' this recap episode serves as the emotional middle chapter in a trilogy exploring the Naruto-Sasuke relationship from Sasuke's perspective. The previous episode established their competitive dynamic, and 'Rift' intensifies that tension by drilling into Sasuke's internal conflict before the escalation that follows. It functions as a psychological bridge, ensuring the weight of their eventual separation lands with full impact.
