guy needs to find some sea legs soon or this boat trip is going to be miserable for everyone and at least the fight over the medicinal herbs had some decent movement and color

another week of filler is frustrating when we could be seeing the war stuff and this whole mission to gather plants feels like such a step back for where the story should be

the way those benisu ninja were basically just trying to make a living and naruto acts like they are the bad guys for wanting money was kind of annoying and unfair

Watching the leaf ninja treat the benisu guys like villains just for wanting to get paid for their work felt wrong, because small villages like that probably need every bit of trade they can get

Kiji really threw me for a loop, I never thought I'd see someone ride an abacus like a skateboard! It was such a goofy and clever moment, exactly why I don't mind these filler episodes sometimes.

guy sensei being perpetually seasick is getting a little old but seeing sakura and ino bicker during the herb hunt felt like the old days and the animation was actually decent for a side story

that abacus skateboard was absolutely ridiculous and this was much better than last episode because seeing naruto and the others scramble for medical supplies was a decent break even if it was just a filler mission

Is it just me, or was that whole herb-gathering bit an absolute drag? I'm so ready for them to actually get back to the war, especially after the last intense battle, and this just felt like such a pointless pause.

kiji is a fun new character and his fight style is actually cool but the way the show treats naruto like he knows nothing about the war feels like he forgot everything gaara told him

It feels weird watching Naruto go on a treasure hunt for herbs when there is a literal war starting, but I actually found Kiji and his giant abacus skateboard pretty entertaining. The animation looked surprisingly sharp for a filler episode and I liked seeing the team interact on the boat even if Guy was just puking the whole time because of his seasickness

I really liked that kid with the abacus skateboard because it was so weird and funny and it made the island feel unique even if it is just filler

Ugh, I can't believe we're seriously stuck on this boat for *another* ten episodes; it just feels like such a weird detour when the main plot was finally heating up back in the village. I'm so impatient to get back to the good stuff, this feels like padding and it's kinda annoying.

Choji and Ino really came through in this episode, and their mission felt like such a breath of fresh air after all the heavy stuff we've been through; it totally brought me back to how they used to operate in the old days. I loved seeing their specific jutsu working together, and it just made me appreciate their bond even more, reminding me of their Team 10 dynamic.

Those new Benisu ninjas were seriously awesome, I'm already wondering if we'll ever get to see them again or if this was just a quick one-off appearance, which would be a total shame because their techniques were so cool! What I don't get, though, is why Tsunade needed two whole teams for those herbs; it just seems like overkill even for her and makes me question if something bigger is brewing behind the scenes.

I gotta say, seeing Guy and Yamato so seasick actually made me crack up, like, I totally didn't expect those two tough guys to be so vulnerable. But it was cool how saving those herb hunters from the lizard really solidified their bond, I felt like the alliance they formed after that was genuinely deserved.

Okay, so I usually skip filler, but this episode with Naruto helping those guys hunt for herbs felt surprisingly chill and actually kinda refreshing after all the heavy stuff; it's cool seeing him just be a regular ninja out in the broader world sometimes, you know?

Ugh, realizing episode 224 was just another filler really got on my nerves, especially since I was so hyped to see what happened next in the main story. Honestly, I'm just tempted to fast-forward through this whole arc if they're not gonna give us anything substantial.

I was genuinely surprised by how slick the animation was during that big monster fight, it totally elevated the intensity for me. And then to see Sakura and the others just suddenly show up out of nowhere? Man, I breathed such a sigh of relief, I was getting worried there for a second.

Ugh, Naruto getting seasick was a little amusing, I guess, but honestly, this boat trip filler is really starting to wear on me. I'm just so ready for the war to finally kick off, and it feels like we're just drifting further and further from the action, which is super frustrating.

I was actually surprised by how much I got into seeing the Benisu nation, it felt like the world expanded a bit even for a filler. And the lizard fight, honestly, it was pretty cool for what it was, which usually isn't saying much for these types of episodes.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep in the filler stretch between the Five Kage Summit arc and the Fourth Great Ninja War buildup, Episode 224 is a standalone side story with no bearing on the main plot. It follows Episode 223's equally filler marlin-fishing adventure and leads into Episode 225's ghost ship scenario — all part of a prolonged travel sequence as Naruto heads toward the Land of Lightning. Viewers tracking only canon material can skip this without consequence.
