That podium shot was so heartwarming and satisfying. And in contrast, the face-off between the coaches insanely made things more tense and hype!

The pacing of events is nicely balanced. And I can't get enough with the comedy in this anime, it's so on-point and wholesome and at the same time, not cringey at all :D

Woah didn't expect a backstory but they nailed this one 🥹 that unexpected meet up at the stairs was both hilarious and tense!

The pacing's really great, the episode shows us the capabilities of other same-age skaters like inori, definitely noting their flaws and skills. I'm really in awe with how smooth and clean the animation is, even the hair looks graceful when they dance.

Episode was entertaining, it was emotional, heartwarming and funny. Mario did a nice job consoling Ryoka. It will be interesting to now see Jun vs Tsukasa.

This is the episode that expands the world of Medalist. It provides a "reality check" that makes the journey ahead feel truly epic, while grounding the drama in the very relatable internal struggles of children trying to find their voice in an adult-dominated sport.

Character development continues at a steady pace. Every moment feels meaningful as the journey moves forward, and the growth feels natural and well-paced, making it a solid and satisfying continuation.

This episode was so incredibly wholesome, you need to know how to recover when you mess up, too, which is an important lesson to be learned. Also, clearly Mike had been projecting quite a bit, glad to see that part has some story to it.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the season's midpoint as episode 5 of 13, this directly continues the Meikoh Cup competition arc that began in the previous episode, where Inori Yuitsuka claimed the top position after the first round. The conclusion of the preliminary free skate sets the competitive hierarchy that will define character dynamics and stakes for the season's second half. Expect the aftermath here to reshape relationships between skaters and coaches heading into whatever challenges follow.
