Seventeen ways to kill someone with a single fingertip, and yet making small talk with a stranger causes Hikaru Gero to completely fall apart. Gero is a professional assassin from the Poison Clan, a family whose power comes from mastery over deadly toxins, and his relatives have decided it's time he settled down and produced an heir. To protect his sister from being married off in his place, Gero has to find a partner himself. Problem: he has zero social skills and even less charm. His solution is hiring Mei Kinosaki, a cross-dressing marriage swindler, to teach him how to date like a normal human being. The setup is absurd in the best way, watching a guy who could level a city block fumble through basic romantic etiquette never gets old. Season 2 picks up that same energy and runs with it, pushing the comedy and action further as Gero's world keeps colliding with increasingly strange situations. The poison-based power system gives the fights a genuinely creative edge, and the animation uses color in ways that make each action sequence feel distinct. If you enjoyed the domestic chaos of Spy x Family or the deadpan assassin humor in Sakamoto Days, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Assassination Classroom's blend of comedy and surprisingly sharp action will also find familiar ground here.
