The animation for a mid nineties oav actually looks pretty decent during the spell casting scenes and it definitely captures that weird energy from that era

Liv just casually trying to end his life for a school project works because she seems so chill about it

Chipple trying to be all sweet and romantic while the other two act like complete agents of chaos in his life caught my eye

Tsukasa is already having a bad time with these exams and then Irene shows up and basically tries to jump his bones while he is just trying to study

I really did not expect the girl in the red hat to just show up and start trying to kill him and it makes the exam stress feel way more intense

That first encounter in the bedroom was wild and the witches are basically treating him like a tool for their test so it will be interesting to see what happens to poor Tsukasa

The art is surprisingly detailed for an old show, and the way the witches play with Tsukasa makes him look like a total amateur. It is kind of a weird start for an exam comedy.

It is pretty funny how he is more worried about his final exams than the actual magic happening right in front of him and those creatures birthed by imagination look cool

I actually felt kind of bad for Tsukasa when he was trying to study and those witches kept messing with him because the poor guy just wants to pass his exams

The way the witches use magic reminds me of those old school fantasy games and it is crazy how much more detail they put into the character designs back then

I went into this expecting some generic comedy about a guy failing his tests, but the supernatural stuff with the three witches caught me off guard. The animation has that specific chunky 90s feel that I really miss and the voice acting for Tsukasa is hilariously pathetic. It is basically a total disaster but makes for an entertaining watch.

The opening music had such a cool funky vibe and the art style has that classic old school grit that you just do not see anymore in modern shows

I really liked that retro look from the mid nineties and those three witches are way more intense than I expected for a first episode and Tsukasa is such a loser for failing his exams three times

You can definitely tell this is from a different era because the character designs for the witches have that specific throwback aesthetic and Tsukasa is just a typical annoying student

That ending with the three of them using him as a test subject was super weird and it feels kind of wrong that they are just messing with his agency like that

Everything about this show feels like a fever dream and the character designs for the three witches have that great vintage aesthetic

This first episode moves from a normal school setting into total supernatural chaos so fast and seeing Tsukasa fail his exams for the third time because of these witches was actually kind of sad but also hilarious and my only complaint is that the witches are too mean to him sometimes, but I definitely enjoyed the old school art style

Witches appearing in the middle of a third attempt at final exams is a lot to handle and the plot feels pretty chaotic

Tsukasa just wants to pass his exams but these three witches show up and ruin his entire focus with their constant meddling

Messy 90s animation is my weakness and things went south for Tsukasa so fast because those witches really messed up his life

EPISODE CONTEXT

This is the first of three episodes, meaning it carries the full weight of setup — characters, world rules, and central dynamics all get introduced here with no prior foundation to build on. There is nothing preceding it, and its primary function is to position Tsukasa's relationships with Chipple, Irene, and Liv in a way that fuels the remaining two episodes. What happens between these characters in Episode 1 directly shapes the comedic and dramatic stakes of the short series' conclusion.
