That life force drain scene looked painful and the supernatural mystery aspect actually holds up better than the romance stuff anyway

My skin was crawling during that final confrontation and seeing the ghost target the one guy Miko likes was a cruel twist

Miko trying to juggle her first crush with a literal demonic haunting makes for such a weirdly intense atmosphere and it works

The ghost design is pretty unsettling but the way the plot keeps shifting away from the investigation is kind of distracting and slow

I really felt for Miko when that phantom started going after her crush and the whole vibe of the school at night was so creepy

the scene where the ghost targets the love interest is pretty intense, especially since Miko is trying so hard to keep him safe while dealing with her own feelings

the balance between supernatural horror and romantic tension is actually pretty decent for an ova from this period, and that blue phantom is genuinely unsettling whenever she appears on screen. I thought the pacing during the classroom scene worked well to build up the dread before the ghost finally made her move on Miko's love interest

you can tell the stakes are higher now that the ghost is specifically going after the guy miko loves and the visuals during the attacks are surprisingly detailed

it bothered me how miko just stood there for a second while the phantom was draining that student but the shock makes sense for her character

those dark school hallways really sell the horror vibes and the ghost design is definitely one of the better ones from this era

that ending with the ghost closing in on the main guy had me actually worried for him and Miko needs to move faster or he is toast

i couldn't get over how miko struggled to balance her normal life with this supernatural mess since the ghost is literally hunting her romantic interest now

the way the life force stealing works is actually kind of disturbing and the ghost is way more aggressive this time around compared to the first episode

watching the schoolmates get targeted one by one makes the whole situation feel much more desperate for Miko and her crush

I really felt for Miko when she saw that ghost hovering over the guy she likes and the animation on the phantom actually looks pretty creepy for an older show
igos_du_ikana's avatar

The animation style during the sexual duels has that classic nineties grit and it makes the demon designs look pretty gross

I really wasn't prepared for the ghost to go after her love interest like that and Miko trying to balance her feelings with her ninja duties is surprisingly engaging. The sexcraft techniques are definitely out there, but they fit this weird world and seeing her use the needles again was a highlight for sure. I hope the guy stays safe in the end.

Watching the Shikima demons drain life force from the students makes the stakes feel way higher than the first part

The pubic hair needles are a wild choice for a ninja move and seeing Miko use them against the Shikima is genuinely strange

I think that ghost lady is actually kind of creepy and the way she goes after Miko's crush is messed up

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following the introductory Episode 1, 'The First Love of the Shikima,' which established the supernatural threat and Miko's role against it, this episode deepens the curse mythology and raises the personal stakes. As the midpoint of a tight four-episode run, it functions as the arc's pressure point — complications mount before any resolution is possible. It feeds directly into Episode 3, 'The Hell of the Cursed Love,' suggesting the worst consequences of this episode's events are still to come.
