Zen deciding to quit the arrangement was the right move and seeing Rina panic because she didn't want to lose him made the romance part feel much more grounded

The transition from them playing around in that costume to Rina actually showing her heart was better than expected and it made the intimate scenes feel way more earned

I am really into the way Rina gets all shy now that they are official and her being a tan gyaru is just a plus for me because her design is great

That bear suit stuff was getting weird so it was about time Zen stood his ground and Rina crying during her confession felt real so it is cool they are officially dating now

The way the episode rushed into that holiday invitation cliffhanger felt a bit weird after the slow start but seeing Takuya get stuck between Amane and Ichi is going to be a disaster

Amane saying everything is for her sister is such a tired excuse at this point and it is hilarious that she thinks she is actually fooling Takuya after that marathon session

Ichi looking so natural without all that makeup and wearing her glasses was such a nice change of pace, plus it was cool seeing her handle her younger siblings like a pro at the store

That Glittermon viewing party was the most relatable thing ever and the way they were all waving those glow sticks around in the living room made the whole friendship feel so much more real

It makes me laugh how Takuya is so smart at reading their hobby habits but he is completely blind to the fact that they both basically just asked him out on a date at the same time

The animation budget definitely took a hit during the second half and those still shots were pretty rough but Ichi in glasses at the grocery store made up for it because she looked great

yamabiko_yamato_40
Seeing Ichi in her house mode with the glasses and her siblings was the best part of the whole episode because she looked so different from her school self. I really liked how it showed her caring side at the store, but the animation felt a bit like a slideshow toward the end which sucked since the Glittermon party was so fun to watch earlier

That ending with the double date invitations is a mess and Takuya is way too focused on his hobbies to even realize both of them are actually hitting on him now

Amane screaming about the magical girl show while pretending she does not care is the funniest thing and Takuya finally having people to geek out with at his house was actually really sweet

ritsuko_akagi_183
I cannot believe Amane is still pretending she only watches Glittermon for her sister when she was going that hard with the glow sticks and I love how she just cannot admit she is a huge nerd

seeing the flashback to them playing as kids made the modern scenes hit differently because you see how deep their bond goes

Watching Rina completely break down when Zen said he wanted to stop the costume games was actually kind of heavy, I didn't expect that much emotion from a show like this. The transition from their weird childhood roleplay into a real relationship felt earned because you can tell how much she actually fears losing him and the animation really sold it

the way Zen finally stood his ground made the whole bear suit dynamic feel a lot more wholesome once they actually admitted their feelings for each other

it is kind of weird that they kept the bear costume thing going for so long but Rina looks great in every scene anyway
melty_monarch's avatar

I really liked how Rina got so desperate when Zen tried to quit and her crying face while confessing felt way more real than the usual stuff in this genre

That cliffhanger with the double date invitation is going to lead to so much drama and Takuya looked like he was about to have a heart attack

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off Episode 1's focus on Rina and Zen, this episode pivots to introduce Juria Oohata and Shigeharu Miyata, signaling that the series intends to operate as an anthology of distinct character dynamics rather than a single continuous narrative thread. This structural choice gives each episode its own identity while collectively building the show's world. Episode 2 effectively sets the template for the range of stories the series will tell going forward.
