I cannot believe they killed Oburi like that right when they were supposed to leave together and start a new life because it felt so cruel and sudden and now I am just sitting here staring at a black screen wondering if Sawa even wants to keep going after losing the one person who actually cared about her in that hell

Everything about Sawa getting her revenge on those detectives felt so heavy and the animation during the hotel fight really showed how much she hates her life

That closing shot with the elevator doors was haunting, and the story just cuts off so suddenly without showing where she goes next

I actually felt sick when Oburi got shot out of nowhere because he was the only good thing Sawa had and now she is just left in that empty apartment alone

Sawa finally blowing Akai away was so intense and the animation on the blood splatter was crazy detailed but then everything just turned so miserable by the end

Everything about the final shootout was visually stunning and it really shows why people still talk about this movie despite how messed up the themes are

The relationship between Sawa and Oburi really got to me because they are just kids caught in a nightmare, and the ending is so heavy that it stays with you for a long time. I think the animation during the final confrontation was incredible for 1998 but the sexual violence is still really difficult to justify even for the story.

Akai is a total monster and watching him get what he deserves was the only good thing about that final act because everything else just felt empty

The animation style is really unique and you can see how much work went into those action scenes even if the sexual stuff is hard to sit through

Seeing Oburi and Sawa together made me think they might actually make it out but the reality of this world is just too cruel for that

That ending was so depressing and it really drives home how there is no escaping a cycle of violence like that for someone like Sawa

Sawa and Oburi trying to escape that life was so painful to watch and the animation for the final shootout looked way ahead of its time

Those scenes with Sawa and Oburi are the only parts that feel human, but the rest of this is so dark it leaves you feeling sick.

The way the explosive bullets look when she takes out the targets is so cool and the grit of this world is just overwhelming sometimes

I actually hated seeing what Akai did to her and it made the ending feel so much more deserved when things finally went down

The way those special bullets just blow people apart is terrifying and the animation makes the violence feel so much more intense and real

I can’t stop thinking about that ending and how much it hurts that Oburi died right when they were supposed to escape, the animation is beautiful but the way it shows such dark and exploitative things makes it so hard to watch at times, I really wanted a happy ending for Sawa but this world is just too cruel and miserable

You can tell how much work went into those action scenes because the gunplay and the way Sawa moves is so smooth and fluid

I really needed Sawa and Oburi to just run away and be happy together but seeing him get shot like that at the end completely ruined my day

EPISODE CONTEXT

Volume 1 established the horrific foundation — Sawa's exploitation under the corrupt detective Akai and her introduction to fellow teenage assassin Oburi. This finale is the direct, unbroken continuation of that setup, delivering the climactic resolution to every thread the OVA has built. As the final episode of a two-part story, nothing follows; this is the verdict on Sawa's fate and the full measure of what the narrative has been building toward.
