Killed Again, Mr. Detective. Episode 5: The Kowloon Hotel Murder, Part 2

Finally, a bit of actual detective work. The deduction scene wasn't half bad, even if the logic was a bit of a stretch. But seriously, the animation quality took a huge nosedive today. You can tell they saved their budget. Still finding the sidekick annoying.

Este capítulo amarra bien varios cabos: la forma en que el crimen se conecta con los puntos cardinales, el fengshui y la inscripción de la recepción se siente bien, y hay una revelación grande sobre el poder de resurrección de Sakuya, hasta le sacan humor a lo macabro que sería normalmente (sí me reí). Sigue siendo gracioso lo poco que le importa a los personajes secundarios que el protagonista regrese de la muerte todo el tiempo (te estoy mirando a ti, Sozorogi.).

El misterio se resuelve a la mitad, dejando espacio para otro giro más y algo de acercamiento entre los protagonistas. También hay escena postcréditos con un twist de un personaje recurrente (un poco cringe, no lo voy a negar), pero efectivo para generar intriga de cara al siguiente. Buen capítulo, de los más sólidos hasta ahora en explicación de reglas del mundo y avance de relación entre el dúo. Recomendado.

After Lilithea and Sakuya concluded what had happened. I didn’t expect Sakuya to ask Lilithea to do that. And the sound effects after that were a bit funny. The way this episode showed what Lilithea did in the office is also hilarious. Again, the killer was found far too quickly, which took away some of the suspense.
