This episode fills in what their home life was like before everything fell apart and it complicates the picture. We can assume we know people but still miss them entirely. Soundtrack earns every moment without overpowering it. That last scene hit so hard, incredible presentation.

I always appreciate stories that delves into their side characters' stories, as it makes the world feels more lived in. In this case, seeing glimpse of Emiri's problem was really intriguing, especially since it seemed to parallel with Makio's. Asa's mother was explored too!

The first half of the episode is confusing because it keeps on changing POVs. In the second half, we get more insights about Minori and her personality. It started out kind of confusing, but we still get to tackle different emotions and their complexities.

This episode pacing got slower but tackled on complex character's psychology and personalities. Well-executed direction that managed dual conversations leaving the viewers cliffhanging in between dialogues. The writing style was somehow similar to Skip and Loafer.

The first half's a bit hard to digest with the constant POV switching, especially when it happens mid-conversation. Still, the emotions come through nicely. The second half is so painful: it shows a side of Asa’s mother we haven’t seen before. It’s raw, honest, and deeply human.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the exact midpoint of the 13-episode season, Episode 7 builds directly on the relationship dynamics established in Episode 6's 'Overlap,' pushing Makio and Asa's evolving bond into more emotionally vulnerable territory. This episode deepens the exploration of past family wounds and personal growth that has been quietly accumulating since the series' opening chapters. It functions as a pivotal turning point, laying essential emotional groundwork for the revelations and developments the back half of the season will need to deliver on.
