the environmental storytelling depicting the tragic transition between the pre and post war landscapes is exceptionally disheartening. capturing the devastating ruin of the setting with such heavy visual fidelity perfectly grounds the structural reality of the conflict and establishes a bleak overarching tone.

Feels like we're still on Chapter 1 of the story on EP2, the story hasn't begun yet, it's still setting up the story.

Wow... just wow.

The way the art style stays so pretty while everything is falling apart is messed up and the scene where Fatima gets slashed while shielding the kid actually broke me

I am still processing the way they destroyed Tus and then hearing about Nishapur and it feels like there is zero hope left for Sitara at this point

I still cant believe they killed Fatima so fast and she was the only one looking out for Sitara and now everything is just gone

You really feel the weight of that fire wolf animation devouring Nishapur and knowing that Muhammad was probably caught in that retribution makes the news of the city falling feel so much more personal for Sitara

My chest felt tight when the young soldier asked about the book at the very end because it was the first time Sitara didn't look completely dead inside since the raid started and it gave her purpose

I can still see the blood on Sitara's face after Fatima threw herself in front of that blade and it was so much worse because of how quiet the cellar was right before the trapdoor opened

That scene where Zmuld died in the yurt while dreaming about the sea actually broke me, because it felt like every person Sitara cared about was getting erased. I was expecting a drama, but this transition into a survival story about the Mongol conquest is heavy and it makes the quiet moments from the first episode feel like a distant dream

Töre is such a piece of work for claiming the entire earth belongs to his father and then trying to chop off a girl's hands just for wanting her own books back from a bunch of looters

The way the colors just drained out of everything while they were crossing that stone bridge really sold how hopeless the march felt and seeing the city burn behind them was a lot to take in

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following the premiere's character introductions, this episode shifts focus toward establishing the political machinery of the Mongol court and the competing ambitions that will define the season's central conflicts. Fatima's place within that world becomes clearer here, transitioning her from newcomer to active participant. This episode functions as essential groundwork, laying the interpersonal and ideological tensions that subsequent episodes will draw upon.
