A great cooking anime. The episode 1 is fun, and give us good details of Chuuka cuisine.

Very wrong decision to watch this while hungry :') they made fried rice look so good! I can smell it thru the screen

Now this is how you make a first episode. The characters is insane, the pacing is insane, This puts most of the new show this season to shame. It's a direct proof that modern manga doesnt necessary means good, and you should never dismiss old anime, you never know what you havent experience yet!

No wonder watching this anime felt nostalgic, the OG source is from a manga made in 1995. One of the standout moments for me was the warning shown at the end of the episode. Why? Because it makes it clear that the adaptation intends to stay faithful to the source material without omitting content or altering it to fit modern censorship trends. That commitment to preserving the original work is something I really appreciate. FUIYOH!!, I can't wait for the next episode!!
P.S. All those episodes and chapters reading Shokugeki no Soma paid off since I understood most of the technical things that the chef are talking about in this episode😅

I've been waiting since I saw the trailer and my god did it not disappoint. It will be an amazing story.

Anime memasak yang over the top.

EPISODE CONTEXT
As the series opener, this episode has no prior installment to build from — it is the foundation. It introduces the central rivalry between Jan and Kiriko, the core tension between ruthless innovation and tradition-rooted craftsmanship, and the institutional setting that will frame future culinary showdowns. Everything that follows this episode will grow directly from the conflict and character dynamics established here.
