I was really surprised by how much of a role Yumi plays in all this, since she is basically being used by the father while also helping him ruin this other family. It makes for such an uncomfortable dynamic and seeing her go after the daughters specifically felt like a huge escalation for just the first episode of the series.

watching yukie get cornered like that because of some legal fees was just depressing and it makes it hard to even enjoy the actual scenes

you can tell the dad is even worse than the son because he immediately goes for the daughters and that contract is just pure evil

that son using a car accident to trap her was so cold and it really sets the tone for how messed up this family is going to be

the art style is definitely that early 2000s elf look and i think i prefer the older aesthetic compared to the newer stuff even if the story is super dark

The plot moves fast and Takedo is basically a monster for how he treats Yukie after the car crash

Seeing a respectable housewife like Yukie get degraded by a brat like Takedo is hard to watch, especially when you see how much she cares for her girls

That first night scene with Takedo and Yukie really showed how much power he has over her and I feel so bad for her

You can really tell this is an older one by the character designs but Yukie still looks great and her scenes are the best part

I found the power dynamic between Takedo and Yumi really strange because he clearly wants to prove he is better than his dad by controlling Yukie, but Yumi is still the one pulling the strings behind the scenes with that contract. It is a lot darker than I expected for a first episode and seeing the daughters get dragged in was wild

The elder Nogawa going after the teenage daughters because of a contract their mom signed is just cruel

The way the father and son are basically competing to see who can ruin this family faster is gross and super uncomfortable

Watching Yukie lose her dignity just to avoid legal fees was heavy and her face when she realizes she is trapped is so sad

Takedo is such a prick for using that car accident to trap Yukie like that and it really sets a dark tone right from the start for me

Yumi drafting that contract for the son while serving the father is actually cold and she seems more dangerous than the guys

Yumi is the most terrifying person in this show because she just watches it all happen while she helps Nogawa destroy this family

My skin crawled when Takedo mentioned his dad while he was with Yukie and the whole competition between them is sick

That father targeting the daughters just to mess with his son was pure evil and Yukie has no idea what is coming

I felt so bad for Yukie when she realized what she signed and Takedo is way worse than his father because he acts like a spoiled child playing with a toy

Yumi is easily the most interesting part of this, especially with how she balances being the father's toy while writing up these insane legal traps for Takedo to use against Yukie

EPISODE CONTEXT

As Episode 1 of 3, this is the series' foundation — there is no preceding episode, making this the point where character relationships, the central conflict, and thematic tensions are introduced for the first time. The groundwork laid here directly informs Episodes 2 and 3, which will escalate and resolve the dynamics established in this opening chapter. Viewers should treat this episode as essential viewing, as skipping it would leave the remaining two episodes without the relational and situational context they depend on.
