Hisoka fights! Total badass and OP. Such a strong character. Kurapika’s fight is still unfinished though, causing conflict with Leorio. For now, Leorio’s trying hard and actually using his brain too. Great character development.

Is this episode ever going to end? The candle game feels like it drags, but that’s the point—it’s meant to be agonizing. Watching the desperation set in is fascinating. It’s a slow burn, but it pays off with some decent character development.

This was definitely Leorio’s moment to shine. He’s surprisingly good at this kind of situation. I also liked the mix of tension and brief, silly banter between the main characters.

I really liked the tense atmosphere this episode brought. The mind games between Leorio and Leroute made it feel high-stakes and engaging. Definitely my kind of episode!

Such an epic episode. It wasn’t flashy, but it delivered strong psychological tension. Gotta love it when an anime really makes you think and keeps you on edge.

The confrontation goes beyond brute force, turning into a layered test of composure and strategy. Mental resilience becomes just as important as physical strength, and that balance keeps the tension alive. It’s a reminder that passing the exam requires more than power.

In this episode its show how hisoka powerful and different from others not much effort from him killing a former examineer, great scene. In the other hand team gon having huge pressure about leorio's match gambing time

Being a gourmet hunter is kind of a big deal i guess, but in my opinion this series is getting dull with this boring addons. it really spoils it. Cooking can make Hunting a good job....okay
Makes no sense.

Episode 10 kinda just... exists. The whole time limit thing is supposed to add pressure, but it's mostly just people standing around thinking. You could probably skip it without missing much. Feels like filler even if it's technically not.

Ep 10 of Hunter × Hunter definitely feels like a filler. The Trick Tower matches don’t add much to the overall plot, so it comes off a bit filler-ish. Still, I liked how the conflicts reveal personality (Kurapika's conviction). Not big story progress, but solid character moments.

Leorio's gambling match drags a bit but Killua's side of the tower more than makes up for it. Hisoka casually dismantling someone who wanted revenge is the kind of scene that reminds you he's on a completely different level. uneven ep but Hisoka and Killua carries 🌟

Story progression is arguably slow, but seeing Leorio in action is nice, so putting this episode as '"mid"

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep in the Hunter Exam's grueling third phase, episode 10 follows the brutal prisoner confrontations of 'Beware × Of × Prisoners' and pivots the challenge toward intellectual and ethical territory. It's a critical bridge episode that develops the group's internal dynamics and individual philosophies before 'Trouble × With × The Gamble' raises the stakes even further. At episode 10 of 148, this is still foundational material — the exam is forging these characters, and the choices made here establish who they really are.
