What I like about Gintama is the hidden complexity in its stories, even when it isn’t explicitly stated. Hasegawa Taizo (Madao) represents that well—a surprisingly complex character wrapped in comedy.

The way they keep on repeating that the prince is a pinhead is cracking me up. Also, the trio, despite quite a chaotic mess, works well together. There are some inspirational things happening but still it will always end up hilarious.
