Wow… the nostalgia hit me more than I expected. Frieren’s memories aren’t just flashbacks—they feel heavy. I caught myself actually feeling sad for a minute. The pacing is chill but it works, because it gives you time to sink into the world and care.

The tension in the city was intense. Seeing how the demons masquerade as diplomats were suspicious. Frieren noticing the demon's nature proved that my instincts were right. I loved how they animated the spells in this episode.

A great episode introducing the make up of the biggest antagonistic force of the anime. A brilliant showing of the quiet intensity Frieren has, especially involving demons. It conveyed here how masterfully deceitful a demon's tongue can be, how hated they are by Frieren and how ignorant humans are about demons.

We get a rawer, more emotional side of Frieren. Also, the flashback of her and Himmel being swayed by the demons' ability to mimic human language adds a rich layer to their efforts in understanding humans. Beyond this depth, Fern-Stark's humor is perfect!!!
