Frieren's character development with humans is now getting good. Fern doubts her master when she looks at the expression she made and proceeds to follow her is funny 😄. While Frieren just wants to buy some birthday gift for Fern.

Okay so now she’s teaching someone new and I can feel the past weighing on her. The show isn’t flashy but somehow it’s heavy. Watching her slowly guide Fern while still carrying all that time… it’s weirdly emotional.

Qual’s return felt like a true ghost of the past. Seeing how modern magic evolved to counter his once unstoppable spell was fascinating. The pacing was perfect and calm leading to a quick, lethal strike. The animation of the spells are superb in combination with the sharp sound.
