Synopsis
When a fire breaks out in her apartment and leaves her completely trapped, 24-year-old office worker Ryou is rescued by the fire department, where one of the firefighters turns out to be Souma, her childhood friend she used to have feelings for. The catch: she gave up on him years ago because the guy was notorious for playing around. Now he's standing in her living room, very much a hot firefighter, and those old feelings are not staying buried. This is an 8-episode ONA adaptation of a josei web manga, so each episode is short and moves fast. The tone leans comedic, with the rekindled-childhood-friends setup doing most of the heavy lifting. It's less about dramatic tension and more about watching two people who have history try to figure out what that history actually means now that they're adults. If you've watched something like Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni or Shuudengo, Capsule Hotel de, Joushi ni Binetsu Tsutawaru Yoru and enjoyed the adult-romance-in-short-form format, this fits comfortably in that same space. Same deal with 25-sai no Joshikousei, familiar josei energy, grown-up characters navigating feelings they probably should have sorted out a long time ago. Don't go in expecting slow-burn complexity; the short runtime means things move along at a steady clip. But if you want a light, comedic adult romance with a fun premise, it's an easy watch.
