QUICK TAKES

Damn okay this one hit different. The opening with Ning Que's past was heavyyy, I honestly didn't expect them to go that dark that fast, like wow. It's already pretty interesting though its very slowly paced, setting up the world and all. It's a nicely done episode in my opinion.

This is an interesting Chinese anime as the scale is immense right from the start. The animation and the sound design was made surprisingly well. Even the lore of the "Eternal Night" was teased perfectly, making this anime feel like it is based off a murim story.

It's actually pretty smooth. The cinematography in this first episode is stunning, and it captures the vastness of the desert so beautifully.

The world feels massive right away and the tone is serious from the jump. Ning Que already has that cold survival vibe. Pacing builds nicely too. Yeah this is a solid start, easy one to watch tonight. 🌑

This first episode brings us to Ming He, a guy whose special ability is "Luck" but his destiny changes after a strong, unique encounter. Very reminiscent of shows like Solo Levelling, this animation series seem to hold some promise in terms of pacing. The character models look well made, and most of the environment/setting as well - but sometimes it looks like it and the action/animation could be better.
