It’s a rewind story! Satoru uses his present-day knowledge in the past to save someone. The plot is balanced and fast-paced, packed with information. Many characters are introduced, including classmates who seem crucial later. The culprit is also shadowed in this episode. Skip it and you’ll be left confused going into episode 3. Seriously!

Learning more about Satoru's past is very interesting. It's sweet seeing him with his former friends, and deciding to get closer to Kayo in order to maybe change the future. While slow, the episode has a lot to cover and it does a great job of explaining everything.

There are lots of nostalgic moments as we're taken back in time to Satoru's childhood, and it's so interesting to see him piece together puzzle pieces using what's around him and bits from his memories, all while pretending to be his past self.

Pace of this anime is really good. Satori knows what he must do & already making good progress. Watching him getting nostalgic over his past made me remember mine too. Makes you realize not to take present moment for granted.

Seeing his mother alive again is quietly emotional before the real work begins. Kayo's bruised leg and painful essay say everything without screaming it. Satoru's quiet determination to rewrite her fate feels deeply human. A tender, carefully built that earns every feeling.

it builds directly on the premiere and gets even more intriguing. Pacing slows just enough for emotional depth without dragging. Animation shines details and expressive faces. We see more layers to characters, making the bonds feel real quick.

Time-travel right off the bat and we don't even know the reason why. Love this kind of anime where it will let you question everything because of its mystery. I'm really excited on what will happen next after the MC uncover more truths regarding his power the purpose of it.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following the high-impact premiere 'Flashing Before My Eyes,' which established Satoru's ability and the catalyst for his journey into the past, 'Palm of the Hand' functions as essential groundwork — slowing down to anchor the key relationships and emotional dynamics that will drive the remaining ten episodes. It bridges the setup phase into the core mystery by placing Satoru in proximity to the people he needs to protect, particularly Kayo Hinazuki. Everything established here feeds directly into the escalating tension and investigative focus of the episodes that follow.
