Synopsis

On a futuristic artificial island, Shu Ogata runs a private military company that fights demons, which sounds like a solid gig, but he's perpetually broke because he can't manage money to save his life. His saving grace, and biggest complication, is Kisara, a demon girl who helps him fight supernatural threats and also aggressively handles his household chores like a possessive roommate. The catch? Kisara powers up by kissing Shu and literally consuming his memories. Every time they need more firepower, he loses a piece of his past. That's a genuinely interesting trade-off that gives the romance actual weight instead of just being window dressing. Then there's Ayano, Shu's ex-girlfriend who still works in the same demon-hunting industry and clearly isn't over him, which creates the kind of messy love triangle where nobody is fully wrong but everyone is making questionable decisions. A-1 Pictures handles the animation, so the action sequences look sharp and the character designs pop. Across 13 episodes, the show balances demon-slaying set pieces with relationship drama that actually moves forward rather than spinning its wheels. If you liked the supernatural harem dynamics of Date A Live or the romantic tension in Saekano but want something with a darker edge to its central romance mechanic, this hits a nice middle ground. The memory-eating kiss concept alone makes it worth the time: it turns every power-up into a genuine sacrifice.
