Aww, Ryusui! That first half really tugged on my heartstrings for him. But we're finally seeing the culmination of everything Senku has built. I feel like a proud parent while watching how far they've all come.

Watching Taiju lose his mind over a backpack sized smartphone made me realize how far they have actually come from the very first episode and now they are literally heading to the moon

It was so hard watching Ryusui break down in the woods alone because he usually acts so confident and greedy but giving up his seat for the better pilot was such a huge sacrifice for him

Senku making a microwave out of nowhere just to give everyone some comfort before he leaves is the most Senku thing he could have done for the village

The way Stanley touched Xenos lips while they were talking about the hostage situation was totally unexpected and intense, you can really tell their bond is on a different level compared to anyone else

Hearing the whole planet go silent for those final ten seconds of the countdown was so heavy and you could really feel how much everyone worked to get those three into the sky

I still cant believe how fast Stanley calculated that lunar shot and it makes it so obvious why they needed him for this mission even if trusting him feels like a massive gamble for everyone involved

Stanley demanding a cigarette the second he wakes up is so in character and the way Xeno already had them ready shows how well they know each other

Stanley calculating the lunar gravity in his head and hitting that target instantly was insane and it really shows why Ryusui had to stay behind even if it hurts

Kohaku saying goodbye to Ruri felt so heavy after everything they went through in the beginning and seeing her finally head to the moon is just a huge moment

Those black space suits look exactly like shiny trash bags and it is the funniest thing ever in such a serious episode but at least Kohaku looks cool in hers

I still cannot believe they are actually in space now and that whole launch sequence was amazing to see, especially the part where they used the Medusa to survive the G-force. It felt like every single invention from the last few seasons finally came together for those ten seconds of the countdown and seeing the rocket finally leave the atmosphere was everything

The smartphone being the size of a whole backpack made me laugh out loud but Taiju getting so emotional over it was actually pretty sweet

Ryusui crying in the woods actually broke me because he wanted to go so bad but he still stepped aside for Stanley and that is why he is a great leader

EPISODE CONTEXT

Arriving at episode 10 of 13, "Countdown" closes out the Kingdom of Science's exhaustive Earth-side preparations that were pushed to their limits in the preceding episode, "Wanting Everything." It marks the definitive tipping point of the season — the moment the story stops building and starts launching. The episode directly feeds into "Giant Step," positioning the lunar mission not as a distant goal but as an imminent, irreversible reality.
