utilizing hot pot preparation techniques as the mechanical basis for crafting homunculi is another brilliant stroke of culinary world-building. revealing chilchuck's family adds necessary depth to his cautious pragmatism, setting up senshi's lore nicely.

Oh the food looks good as always, the ingredients for the monster... I thought she was cooking hot pot, not preparing a monster and why do the monsters look like sausages? Marcille is so funny this ep it's like when you draw and your expression matches the drawing. Laios, you silly, I love him so much. and wym Chilchuck has a wife and daughter?'??? My reaction was exactly like Marcille's. we're finally reaching Senshi backstory, let's goooo

the lore dump about the lunatic magician's backstory is lowkey one of the best reveals in the whole show. senshi being scared of the griffin was such a fun twist and marcille stepping up with the familiars was chef's kiss. this show balances humor and worldbuilding like no other. those pancakes looked so amazingly good! marcille making the exact same face as the little sausage monsters she was crafting was hilarious. finding out chilchuck actually has a wife and daughter completely blew my mind though, i am in shock!

The episode focuses on Senshi that seems uneasy about the monster, Griffin. The way the anime made it seem natural for Senshi to be present, no question asked, was magnificent and a huge eye opener that there is still much too learn about the main cook in an anime about cooking. I wish that there was more about the fight with the Griffin because it was very anticlimactic and leaves much to be desired.

A great, action-packed episode that also adds an air of uncharacteristic mystery to the beloved Senshi. The animation is spectacular, and the comedic bits only serve to heighten the stakes. Marcille was equal parts badass and funny.

This one blends strategy with character insight rather than straight combat

After a calm break in the previous episode, Laios and the gang continue their quest. Laios’ party tries a unique and clever strategy to deal with their enemy and it's fun to watch. The last scene sets up a nice hook that teases us with new lore and backstory for the next episode~

They finally show a small part of the past of the mad mage in this episode which will be very crucial soon! With no spoilers, this is exciting and an episode that you must watch. Animation wise, Griffin and Familiars part of the anime has smooth animation.

A great episode to reveal the mystery behind one of our dear characters from the protagonist's group; its climax is hard to digest the first time you watch it.

Insane emotional episode with painful revelation

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 22 arrives after the major lore revelations about the Golden Country and its ruler in Episode 21, transitioning the party back into direct dungeon exploration as they push deeper toward their goal of rescuing Falin. Sitting at episode 22 of 24, this installment functions as critical setup for the final confrontation with Thistle, the Lunatic Magician, while strengthening the interpersonal bonds the party will need for what lies ahead. The character development here—particularly for Senshi and Marcille—pays off threads woven throughout the entire season and positions the group for the climactic episodes to come.
