this is literally your sign to never trust men ever and this episode is the proof. the meeting between these two is so unbelievably tense and i was physically rigid the entire time. the pace is getting terrifyingly fast now and i do not know how to feel about where this is heading

the confrontational staging of the primary encounter uses the physical desolation of its setting to reinforce the power dynamics between the two parties in a way that feels visually earned. the pace is no longer building toward a climax it is simply the new baseline and the forward momentum is extraordinary.

i know what your plan is has to be one of the most LOADED lines this show has ever delivered and the way it just hangs there in the air is genuinely unreal. i did not expect what came after and had to sit with it for a moment. the story is moving so fast and i am genuinely not okay right now.

Even in the last 3 episode, this story can make viewers excited and let them join in the game. Who will win? Who will die? Who will be at the end of the race?

Kiyomi kidnapped and Mello being brought back into the narrative but with only 3 more episdoes left in the series, kind of curious to see how all of these other characters are going to get their resolutions.

Near and Light finally agreed to meet. It was an abandoned building called Daikoku Wharf. But before the meeting, Mello managed to abduct Takada. While they were on the way, Takada managed to kill Mello with a page from the notebook. Later, she got betrayed, though!

The Episode’s tone is chilling and impressive, a satisfying watch on how every move is calculated and how each plan carrying heavy consequences.

Light’s plan here is honestly brutal. The way he calmly manipulates everything, even making Takada act exactly how he wants, shows how far he’s gone. It’s crazy how cold and calculated he can be.

Mello’s bold kidnapping of Takada flips the entire game. His reckless gamble forces Light and Mikami into mistakes, leading to his tragic death. In the end, Mello’s sacrifice becomes the key to cracking Kira’s plan—proving he was vital to Near’s victory.

absolugame changer! Mello finally makes his move and kidnaps Takada. It’s a desperate plan, but it forces Light and Mikami to act quickly. Watching Light coldly use his "hidden" piece of the Death Note to get rid of Takada was chilling. He really doesn't care about anyone but him

This episode demonstrates how the Light's ruthlessness manipulates Takada's last move by using his own secret notebook fragment. In this heartbreaking, suspenseful thriller, Mello makes the ultimate sacrifice. A startling development that shatters everyone's well-laid plans.

Near is terrifying here. he might truly have the upper hand. The pacing is consistent now but much more abrupt. There is less repetition now with each moment having more purpose. The music maintains a quiet tone

things start moving fast here. Mello does something bold and it completely throws everyone's plans sideways. Light stays cold as ever and the consequences pile up quick. solid concluding setup 👌🏻👌🏻

Light messed up but still great

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following 'Vigilance,' where Aizawa's growing suspicions began cracking the foundation of Light's position, 'Malice' introduces a critical disruption that upends the strategic balance between Light and Near just as both are making their final plays. As episode 35 of 37, this is the penultimate setup before the endgame — it directly feeds into '1.28,' where the long-anticipated final confrontation begins to crystallize. Everything built across the series narrows to a razor's edge here.
