Great episode, with a bit of a detective vibe. The ending was creepy.
Overall, a slow burn — 8/10.

We finally get to settle down and explore the reverse isekai that's ongoing. To be only at Day 3 in ep9 atest to how much story was told and the amazing pacing it has.

It's a cool and fun episode! Most of it is hilarious, but it also has some serious moments that balance everything out perfectly.

First half is slow and skippable since nothing important happens. But tension builds bit by bit in the second half and pays off at the end. It leaves us on a cliffhanger with a new strong daemon appearing!

You really can not miss this emotional turning point now.

The episode was 80% slice of life, where Yuru is basically getting used to his surroundings. That being said, the sudden shift in tone at the end of the episode surprised me. This episode started really mundane, so to have a splash of action was unexpected.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 8's confrontational momentum in 'Suspicion and Conviction,' this episode deliberately decelerates to tend to the character relationships those conflicts stirred up. At the midpoint of the 24-episode run, Episode 9 functions as connective tissue, processing what came before and quietly engineering the emotional stakes for the escalation ahead. What feels like a rest stop is likely laying groundwork that will pay off in the second half of the season.
