The most shocking thing was them finally showing Ed at work lol, they barely give him much screentime outside of the goofy scenes with the bebop crew and him galivanting with Ein. The teamwork here was kinda.. gone, but watching Spike fight was so entertaining

I really loved the shift in tone, reflected in both animation and ramping up story. The intensity brought by the new opponent Spike faces primarily alone made the thought of him dying scarily real. The wonderland theme was soo cool in execution, loved the surrealist horror!!

The antagonist in this episode was amazingly done, from his introduction to his showdown with Spike. Aside from the fact he looks like a balloon, his unpredictable attack and fighting style make him really formidable, even to the audience! Like, you never knew what he would do..

In episode twenty Spike fights an opponent like no other before. We've never seen Spike fight with such desperation, he normally never loses his cool while fighting. This has been the cruellest and darkest episode so far.

This one is straight-up unsettling. Spike runs into a bizarre assassin who treats the whole fight like a game, and it quickly turns into a deadly chase. The tone feels tense and almost surreal, with Spike pushed into a situation that’s far more dangerous than it first seems.

Not bad of these stories, shows a fight sequence between Spike and Mad Pierrot in Delusional Amusement Park

A softer, reflective chapter. The crew dynamic feels more fragile now. You can sense change coming. It’s subtle but meaningful. Bebop excels at quiet build-up.

Finally someone makes Spike work for it. The fight is clean and intense. No flashy nonsense, just skill. I was locked in the whole time. 💪

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 20 of 26, 'Pierrot le Fou' is a self-contained detour following the lighter, more nostalgic tone of 'Wild Horses,' which centered on Spike's encounter with space pirates and an old acquaintance. This standalone horror-action piece doesn't advance the series' larger narrative threads but enriches the world's sense of danger before the crew returns to bounty hunting in 'Boogie Woogie Feng Shui,' as the season begins its approach toward the final stretch of episodes.
