This episode made me feel unusually emotional! The contents land way harder than the previous episodes for me, because of how much I sympathize with Jet's character. Everything down to the pacing and storyline is so well made and articulated!

Hearing both Alisa and Jet's POV made me realize no one was really in the wrong, which made the whole situation and relationship even more tragic; Alisa's free personality and desires that don't line up with Jet's secure persona. The ending feels like amazing payoff to this.

We get a deeper exploration on Jet's character and past in this episode, which felt fitting. He is a very solemn and realistic character who adds a more down-to-earth perspective. Seeing his regrets and unwavering poker face with Alisa despite everything was bittersweet.

In episode ten we'll finally learn more about Jet's past when the crew visit Ganymede for a bounty hunt. Why is the Black Dog so conflicted being back at home? This episode is vet slow paced, lingering on most frames for a while.

Jet returning to Ganymede and running into someone from his past completely changes the tone. This episode feels reflective and personal. The bounty almost feels secondary to the emotions underneath. It’s slower, more grounded, and quietly powerful.

This moral between The Bebop and Jet is about teamwork. This isn't a melodrama about betrayal; it's a mature look at how "good" people can still be wrong for each other.

This one feels playful on the surface but still fits the vibe. The show’s flexibility is insane. It can switch genres without losing identity. That confidence is rare.

Poker table chaos 😂 Spike’s face is blank, Faye lurking, Jet sighing. Tension + humor + style = peak Bebop.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 10 of 26, this arrives right after Ed's chaotic introduction in 'Jamming with Edward,' making the tonal shift to Jet's introspective backstory feel even more pronounced — the series deliberately alternates between high-energy ensemble pieces and deeply personal character portraits. Ganymede Elegy rounds out the crew's early bonding phase by finally giving Jet the spotlight he's been denied, deepening the emotional stakes aboard the Bebop. Next up is 'Toys in the Attic,' a tonally different, suspenseful bottle episode confined entirely to the ship.
