The way he just walked into that door because he pushed instead of pulling was hilarious because you probably do that almost every single day

That cafe scene is the best thing ever and the way he just stays so calm while dying inside is just too much

I thought this was going to be some serious show about handsome guys but it is just about being a complete mess and I love Hayate so much already

That moment when he realized he was wearing his sweater inside out in public was a total nightmare and he handled it with more grace than most
inu_no_taisho's avatar
inu_no_taisho
It was a really chill start, and the art style has this soft watercolor look that makes the whole show feel very comfy and relaxing

The internal monologue about his own clumsiness really hit me hard since I spend half my life trying to look like I have it together when I do not

Seeing him confidently walk the wrong way and then have to do that awkward little turn around to fix it was painful to watch in a good way
zerotwofan's avatar

This was so much more relaxing than expected and Hayate is basically a mirror for real life since watching him try to look all cool and composed while making the dumbest mistakes, like trying to pay with a rewards card, is just too real and it is a nice change of pace to have a show that is just pure vibes and focuses on these tiny funny moments

That moment when he tries to pay with his wallet instead of the card and just walks away is so painful to watch but also hilarious
kaepora_gaebora_269's avatar
kaepora_gaebora_269
Hayate acting like he meant to trip on the sidewalk just to keep his cool reputation in front of strangers is the level of delusion that people should strive for

Why was he trying to drink his coffee through the lid while looking all mysterious on the bench because he is such a ditz
kageromaru's avatar

I could not stop laughing when he realized he was trying to drink through his mask because I have definitely done that before
chad_champion_494's avatar

Seeing Hayate try to play off that wallet mistake at the register was too much, because I have definitely stood there panicking while people waited behind me

Hayate trying to pay with his point card instead of money is the most relatable thing ever and he looks so calm while he is dying inside
deku_285's avatar

this art style is pretty clean but it feels like the story is moving too fast for no reason and they could have spent more time on the build up
japas_282's avatar
japas_282
Seeing Hayate get all weird about looking at other small animals because he felt like he was cheating on his pet at home was hilarious, and that internal monologue was just so strange. The whole aesthetic of the show with those soft colors and the Mafumafu song makes everything feel so relaxed and easy for me to watch

I thought the character designs were great and the animation during the main scenes was way better than most of the stuff coming out lately

That bit where the guys are all introduced in the opening through their different clumsy moments is a great way to start the show

Mafumafu doing the opening song is such a win and it sets the right mood for watching these guys mess up constantly
asuna_angel_100's avatar
asuna_angel_100
Watching a guy that looks that cool fail at basic tasks is such a funny concept and Hayate is the perfect introduction to the group

EPISODE CONTEXT

This is the first episode of Cool de M, meaning there is no prior content to draw from — everything begins here. As the series opener, this episode carries the full weight of world-building and character establishment, laying the groundwork for the relationship dynamics and thematic threads that will carry forward. With the total episode count unlisted, how much this premiere sets up versus delivers remains to be seen, but its position as Episode 1 makes it the essential entry point for the entire series.
