vicious_179★★★☆☆EP 1i came for the fantasy action but stayed for the weirdly high quality background art during the tavern sequence and that cliffhanger with the princess was a total surprise
A noblewoman and skilled swordswoman, Scarlet Alice Bastia ends up in the worst possible situation: captured by a hostile nation and forced to fight monsters in deadly arena battles. She survives, but surviving and escaping are two different things, and she doesn't have the coin to make either happen cleanly. That's where Gustav comes in, a trader with the Fractale guild who has resources she needs. The arrangement they land on is uncomfortable and transactional, and the story doesn't pretend otherwise. To move through dangerous territory undetected, they pose as a prostitute and her client. It's grim, it's desperate, and that tension is kind of the whole point. This is a dark fantasy OVA that leans hard into survival and the moral compromises people make when freedom is on the line. The character dynamic between Scarlet and Gustav is genuinely interesting: she's not helpless, she's cornered, and there's a difference. If you've watched something like Kuro no Senki and wanted something moodier and more mature, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Skeleton Knight in Another World who want a darker, more grounded female lead might also find something here. It's only two episodes from studio Office TakeOut, adapted from a light novel, so the commitment is low. Just go in knowing the tone is heavy and the content is explicitly adult.

goh★★☆☆☆EP 1it is easy to tell this was based on an erotic novel by how much time they spent on the dialogue scenes in the dungeon and the music was surprisingly dramatic for what it was
lone8★★★☆☆EP 1the pacing felt a bit rushed through the intro and you barely get to know the hero before he is tossed into the pit but at least the action scenes have some weight to them
