Man, this anime is a little unhinged, but maybe that's part of its charm. I just didn't expect it to be this brutal because I started watching without knowing much about the premise or the content warnings, lol. The story progression is honestly really good, though.

This anime just keeps being brutal and interesting. I loved this episode. I don't know how to put it, but it felt so heavy, especially with Nell's backstory. Somehow, though, the way it was laid out was really good.

I liked the progression of the story so far. This world's setting is way more brutal than I expected. The violence and heavy atmosphere kept things even more interesting, though. It still has me hooked.

The story slows to focus on the bond between the dragon and the child. It’s more emotional than action-driven, but it adds meaningful depth to the characters.

The story picks up right where it left off, with Clevatess and Alicia getting attacked by bandits. As intended, the incident drives Clevatess further into human life. Nell is undoubtedly the best character in this episode, her life and backstory are peak tragic, yet she remains kind and has saved many children, making her such a heartwarming character. The episode delivers a warmer and more relaxed vibe with deep meaning woven into human lives. There is also some high-stakes action on Alicia's side. Great overall! 👍👍

Alicia and Clen get captured by some bandits and it gets UGLY. they're treated like animals. there's a slave girl named Nell who's been there forever. the baby Luna is the only thing keeping them going. this episode is rough. 💔

it keeps the momentum from ep 1 without slowing down too much. Pacing feels steady as the group deals with new threats in a harsh world. Animation stays solid with creative creature work and tense scenes. Character moments start deepening the bonds in a natural way.

The story expands its worldbuilding. Characters begin showing deeper motivations, and the power system becomes more important.

If the first episode set the stage for a dark, "end of the world" epic filled with blood and gore, this one really doubled down on a more relaxing tone but still touched on the heavy themes like slavery and the value of a human life.

Episode 2 is a slow but interesting follow-up to Clen learning more about humanity on a small scale. Nell's backstory left just the right amount of detail for max cruelty. Its dark fantasy tone remains a strong suit, but the literal dark lighting can make it hard to see the show.

EPISODE CONTEXT

After the premiere's kingdom-shattering devastation, episode 2 immediately grounds the story by stripping its protagonists of agency and placing them in captivity under The Ravens. This pivot from spectacle to survival establishes the human-level stakes that will drive the early portion of the season. It directly sets up episode 3, 'Hero's Duty,' where the themes of punishment and the fight for freedom escalate further.
