it is honestly so hard for me to keep watching sometimes because the characters in this show just piss me off so bad. chihaya is such an airhead and i could never be friends with her in real life. and i literally hate yumin too. taichi is the only perfect one here.

the production team struggles with narrative restraint during these high stakes sequences. relying far too heavily on extensive internal monologues to artificially build up the emotional weight significantly damages the kinetic momentum of the physical athletic competition.

This match was incredibly intense but they seriously TALK WAY TOO MUCH (intrnally) during the actual games. I know they are trying to build up the emotion but having everyone constantly giving speeches in their heads just ticks me off. Just let them play the game without all the yapping.

Whether it’s the current Queen or the previous one, they’re both kinda annoying lol. Chihaya vs Yumin feels really intense, and the animation supports the tension so well. The pacing is pretty fast since the match wraps up here. Chihaya really needs to level up her playstyle!

It was amazing on Chihaya's side to have an opportunity to play with one of the Queen in karuta. It is also a full blast and the excitement was there.

It finally dawned upon me that being a Queen at a young age is an amazing feat. Shinobu being at the same age as Chihaya is a miracle, not the standard. This episode showed another formidable opponent that will surely be a hurdle for Chihaya to achieve her dreams. 10/10

Yes, we did get to know the previous queen, but at the same time we also know how terrifying Shinobu is by proxy. I feel like Chihaya in a sense is still gaining more and more experience as she go, and this is good for her. But it's hard seeing her mental state at the end.
