gintoki★★★☆☆AnimeCan a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive?
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Armed with resin, tweezers, and a surprisingly steady hand, Yuu Natsume crafts accessories out of preserved flowers, which is already a more interesting hobby than most anime protagonists get. He's been at it since middle school, when his best friend Himari Inuzuka decided to help him sell his creations, and now in their second year of high school, she models and promotes them online. They've got this comfortable dynamic going, the kind where she casually declares that if his dream of opening a shop doesn't work out by thirty, she'll just marry him herself. No big deal, right? Then Yuu runs into Rin Enomoto, a girl wearing one of his old designs, who also happens to be his childhood crush. Himari, being the supportive friend she is, pushes him to reconnect with Rin. But as Yuu and Rin start getting closer, things between the trio get complicated in ways none of them were ready for. The whole thing runs on that slow-burn tension of watching someone realize their feelings aren't what they thought they were, wrapped in lighthearted comedy and genuinely sweet moments. J.C.Staff handles the 12-episode TV series, and the pacing keeps things moving without rushing the emotional beats. If you liked the messy love triangle energy of Toradora or the grounded high school romance of Horimiya, this one hits a similar spot. Fans of Kimi ni Todoke's earnest approach to young love will find a lot to appreciate here too. It's warm, a little bittersweet, and knows exactly what kind of story it wants to tell.

lilieofthevalley__★★★★☆VerifiedEP 12What a messy finale... All that buildup just to end up back at the status quo. To be honest, I was hoping for something different, but it still wrapped up in a satisfying way. I'm just glad Yuu and Himari were finally more honest with each other. If there's a second season, I hope none of the girls get hurt.
lilieofthevalley__★★★★☆VerifiedEP 11I cringed so hard at the last part of the episode lol (I'd probably say the same things if I were in high school). I get where the adults were coming from, but still... they're putting way too much pressure on a bunch of teenagers.
lilieofthevalley__★★★★☆VerifiedEP 10Woah, what a bold move, Himari... But since this is a high school romance anime, I doubt much will come from it. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong! Putting that aside, Himari looks great with sunflowers!
lilieofthevalley__★★★★☆VerifiedEP 9Okay, so why is this adult beefing with a high schooler and using manipulative tactics? Hibari this episode was surprisingly funny tho lol
lilieofthevalley__★★★★★VerifiedEP 8I really liked the progress in this episode. Himari and Yuu were finally more honest with themselves and with each other. Rion and Himari's brother were the MVPs for talking some sense into the two of them.
lilieofthevalley__★★★★★VerifiedEP 7Actually, this is my favorite episode so far. I liked that it focused more on Yuu's business and less on the love story. The ending did make me sad though. It felt unfair, but I guess it was a lesson Yuu had to learn :((
lilieofthevalley__★★★★☆VerifiedEP 6The drama just keeps escalating! I wonder if they've they heard of polyamorous relationships? lmao END THE LOVE TRIANGLE, JUST BE A THROUPLE!
lilieofthevalley__★★★★☆VerifiedEP 5I’m actually glad we have an adult in this complicated, very high school situation. The constant push-and-pull between them has gotten even worse though... But I wonder what the next episode will be like, most likely more chaotic huhu…
lilieofthevalley__★★★★☆VerifiedEP 4There were many openings for some development their relationship, but nothing happened hahaha 🥹 I guess I should just be glad that these kids are getting along again.
