So, the entire motivation behind his actions was jealousy? That's not what I expected, though it's not bad either. I'm particularly disappointed. I certainly don't like that the final impression is that Atsushi feels protected by the agency when they literally could have helped him much sooner. This anime is strange; it has some really good episodes, but this one is definitely one of the "it doesn't make sense" ones. By the way, it suffers too much from the "If they'd stop talking stating the obvious, they'd have time to rescue people" trope.

This episode is pure chaos in the best way. Chuya and Dazai Osamu throwing hands was already iconic, then Atsushi vs Akutagawa Ryunosuke just went crazy. Kyoka’s choices?? Emotional damage. The ship fight had me stressed the whole time.

I miss Chuuya and Dazai’s bantering, so chaotic and hilarious. The action scenes keep me wide awake, screaming and clenching my fist with the fight tension. The animation on the action scenes were really good, I love how they emphasize the different effects on the skills and highlights some good details. Kunikida definitely saved the day for me!

Oooof! This is overloaded in a good way tbh. There's action, strategy, reveals, and character growth all happening at once. Slightly chaotic pacing, but strong payoff energy. It feels like the story just unlocked season 2 content lmao

The long-awaited confrontation between Atsushi and Akutagawa finally unfolds. As Akutagawa unleashes the terrifying Rashomon ability, Atsushi struggles to stand his ground. The episode delivers one of the season’s most intense battles.

The wide range of emotions shown in this episode is perplexing especially the continuation of clash between the two organizations and the certain "pair" only for the other one to accept their defeat.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 10 of 12, this is the climactic turning point of the season — the mounting threats and character tensions from previous episodes, particularly the escalation in Episode 9, converge here in a defining showdown. The Atsushi-Akutagawa rivalry crystallizes everything the season has layered about the Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia. It directly sets the stage for the final stretch, feeding into Episode 11's continuation of character dynamics and the resolution the finale demands.
