The episode went exactly as I expected when friends turned enemies reunite. The execution is well done but it doesn't gloss the fact that they bond through saving each other, even if it's by different time. For a story in a war setting, there's little to no discussion for how one decides to be a soldier, live as as a soldier, or imagine what winning the war would be like for them. Because of that, there's a lack of mutual understanding, especially since Aoba is more of an outsider.
