It really caught me off guard when Nao switched from being bashful to so passionate during the nursing session, and I think that dynamic makes her the most interesting character so far.

The animation looks surprisingly clean for something from 2005 and the way Mitsugu just jumped right into it was pretty funny

Daisuke is kind of a blank slate but Nao is actually pretty cute when she gets all flustered during the career practice scene

This show really knows its audience because those character designs are huge and the nurse roleplay with Nao went from zero to a hundred so fast
ubagabi_usurper_93's avatar
ubagabi_usurper_93
The plot is so thin it barely exists and they just spend the whole time doing it but at least the tone is funny

I cannot believe Nao is actually his cousin and she went that hard with the nurse roleplay the heartbeat part was so ridiculous

Daisuke really has the easiest job ever just sitting there while Nao does all that stuff in a nurse outfit

Mitsugu just showed up and demanded that specific thing and the character designs are so huge they look like balloons

I was looking for something light and this really delivered on the comedy side because the whole idea of career dramatic practice is such a blatant excuse for everything, and Nao being his cousin makes the nurse scene way more awkward, but seeing Mitsugu just walk in and take charge like that was definitely the biggest surprise

putting every single point into defense was such a weird move but now she is walking through poison like it is nothing while everyone else is probably struggling

i can't believe she spent an hour letting a bunny hit her and now she is basically a god in this game because of her weird stats
mamamu_yan's avatar

she just tanks every single hit without flinching, and then she starts munching on the hydra like it is a snack which was hilarious to watch
zuna_293's avatar
zuna_293
this girl decided to literally eat a boss monster just because she ran out of ways to hurt it and it actually worked and gave her a huge win

that rabbit hitting her for an hour gave me such a laugh because she ended up getting a crazy defense skill just for being lazy

The art looks really crisp for an old OAV and the way they handled the different uniforms for the roleplay scenes made the visuals stand out a lot

The character movements are incredibly exaggerated, and it really shows why the game was so popular back when this first came out

Daisuke is a total creep for using those costumes as a way to get with his students and the career counseling excuse is thin even for this genre

I was not prepared for how ridiculous the physics are in this episode, but seeing the Crossnet-Pie art style in motion is actually pretty cool even if the teacher-student dynamic is questionable. The nurse roleplay went on for a while and the bad grammar in the subs made the dialogue even more awkward than I expected for a show from 2005

There is basically no story here and it just jumps from one encounter to the next but the visual quality stays surprisingly high throughout the whole episode

The subtitles are a mess with typos everywhere and it makes the already thin plot about a job counselor even harder to follow during the talking scenes

EPISODE CONTEXT

With only two episodes in the series, 'Lecture One' carries the full weight of introduction — there is no prior episode to build on, making this the sole setup for everything that follows. It establishes the characters and fantasy framework that Episode 2 will continue and conclude. The series later spawned a standalone sequel, Resort Boin, suggesting this episode also lays the tonal and character groundwork for that expanded universe.
