Komamura appearing in that utterly absurd movie costume snapped me right out of the tension, and I actually chuckled, which was such a jarring feeling considering the grave circumstances gripping the Soul Society. It’s hard to reconcile his usual solemn dignity with something so overtly silly; my mind just scrambles trying to figure out how he ended up in it.
