I was absolutely floored when it dropped that the Hogyoku just grants deepest wishes; it completely recontextualizes everything Aizen's done and makes me wonder if his entire grand plan was just one huge, selfish desire brought to life. Now I can't help but look back at all those desperate fights and think about how different they feel knowing this.
