Starrk being the number one is exactly what you expect from someone that lazy and his talk with Shunsui was the best part of the whole episode

The recap took way too long and you have to sit through minutes of old footage before the actual episode even starts

Yamamoto is just on another level compared to everyone else because he deleted that monster Ayon without even breaking a sweat

Soi Fon looks like she has her hands full with Barragan and the rest of the captains are finally getting their big matchups

I thought it was terrifying seeing Yamamoto move that fast and he just sliced right through that Ayon creature without even trying

I am so annoyed that Nel broke the fourth wall just to tell me that we are going into a filler arc right when the fights got good

I really loved the production quality during the Ichigo and Ulquiorra fight because the music and the voice acting made the whole scene feel so heavy, but then Nel just looked at the camera and told us we have to wait through filler for the rest of the battle and it was such a weird way to end the episode when things were finally happening

Shunsui facing off against Starrk is going to be such a strange fight and seeing all the captains pick their opponents was great

I was not expecting Starrk to be the number one espada since he looks so lazy and unbothered all the time

Starrk being the Primera is such a cool twist because he seemed like he did not even want to be there at first

Old man Yamamoto handled the Fraccion like they were nothing, and seeing him flex his power is always the best part of these big battles

The ending of this episode looked incredible during the Ichigo fight and the animation felt much sharper than the last few weeks

I was absolutely floored seeing Ulquiorra fight Ichigo with one hand still in his pocket, like, is he even trying? It felt so dramatically disrespectful and just solidified how completely outclassed Ichigo was, even with his mask on; I honestly can't imagine how he's supposed to pull through this one when someone that strong hasn't even broken a sweat yet.

When Hitsugaya and Harribel just stood there, staring each other down, I swear I could feel the electricity in the air, my breath catching in my throat from the sheer tension. Seriously, it makes me so nervous wondering if the entire battlefield will even hold up once they finally unleash their full power against each other; that kind of energy is just insane.

I was honestly floored by how quickly Yamamoto dealt with Ayon, turning that whole fused monster into ash in an instant. It just cemented for me that he really doesn't tolerate any nonsense, and that kind of overwhelming power is genuinely terrifying when you think about it.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Starrk being the #1 Espada, 'cause he just seems so utterly detached, not even caring about the chaos around him, which honestly makes me wonder if he's powerful beyond comprehension or just deeply sad. Then Yamamoto just *snapped* and absolutely incinerated Ayon without breaking a sweat, and man, that was a chilling reminder of the sheer, terrifying gulf between a Captain Commander and everyone else.

I was really impressed with Rukia holding her own against the Exequias leader, but then Yamamoto just went off on Ayon, and it completely blew my mind. I knew the old man was strong, but seeing him actually draw his sword like that seriously makes me wonder how much power he's truly holding back most of the time; it was so intense.

When Nel totally broke the fourth wall to point out the upcoming filler arc, my jaw just dropped because I was so into the main storyline! I swear, they always pull this, and it's so frustrating when we're at such a critical point; can't we just get to the good stuff already?

It honestly made my blood boil seeing Ulquiorra just chill with his hand in his pocket while Ichigo was out there barely clinging to life. I mean, the sheer disrespect of it all really hammered home how completely outclassed Ichigo is right now, and it just made me question if he even stands a chance against someone that calmly terrifying.

Starrk actually being the First Espada completely threw me for a loop; I seriously thought he was just some chill dude who accidentally wandered onto the battlefield. His whole 'too tired to care' vibe makes me wonder if he's so powerful he has to hold back, or if he's just incredibly bored with everyone else's efforts.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned deep within the Fake Karakura Town arc, Episode 226 marks a critical inflection point where one stage of battle winds down and another begins to crystallize. Episode 225 pushed the Soul Reapers through significant trials, and this episode processes those consequences while redirecting momentum toward the next wave of confrontations. With 140 episodes still remaining in the full series, this is far from a resolution — it's a strategic reset that sets the table for escalating threats ahead.
