I was totally caught off guard by Starrk's laid-back attitude, wanting to just talk even with the whole world seemingly collapsing around them, and it made me think he must just be so incredibly lonely. But that shift when he pointed out Shunsui's two swords, man, that immediately ratcheted up the tension for me; I just knew it was about to get real.
