Grimmjow came back and immediately blew a hole through Luppi and it was brutal after seeing him mope around without an arm for so long

Grimmjow getting his arm back was cool, but him immediately murdering Luppi was the highlight of the whole episode. It really shows how much of a savage he is compared to the others.

Seeing the trio finally land in that white desert felt like the real story is starting and Chad looks like he is actually ready to throw down this time

Aizen explaining that Orihime can reject reality is a total game changer and it makes her so much more than just a healer which is exactly why she is in danger

My stomach dropped when Grimmjow blew a hole through Luppi without even blinking and I am so glad he got his rank back because he is the most vicious guy there

Tatsuki crying because Ichigo would not tell her anything was so painful to watch and Urahara just stands there and knows everything while she is left in the dark

Uryu trying to find a loophole in his dad's rules just to help Ichigo is such a funny move and he really thinks he is being slick by saying he is not technically helping a Soul Reaper

I really can't get over that scene with Isshin and Ryuken hanging out because they are supposed to be enemies and it makes me wonder what kind of history they have together. It feels like there is this whole secret generation of parents who know way more than their kids do and I need to know why they are so chill now.

The sand in Hueco Mundo looks so lonely and Ichigo is acting way too cool about just jumping into a desert full of monsters but at least he has Chad and Uryu

Orihime is basically a god now and seeing her just bring back a whole arm out of thin air was terrifying and Aizen knows exactly what he is doing with her

I actually felt bad for Luppi for like a second before Grimmjow just erased him and that Cero was so brutal but he definitely deserved it for being so arrogant

Ichigo going rogue to get Orihime back was the right move and seeing his friends show up to back him is the closure they needed after that training

That point blank cero to the stomach was brutal and Grimmjow really proved he is the only one who belongs in the sixth spot by ending Luppi that fast
toga_260's avatar

The tension between Ryuken and Isshin makes it seem like there is a huge backstory missing, and Urahara staying behind to let the kids handle the rescue feels like a test.

Urahara helping the kids go to Hueco Mundo is classic for him and he really just ignores the captains orders when he thinks Ichigo needs to do his own thing

It is honestly wild how Orihime can just reject reality to heal people, and Aizen looks like he has some massive plan for her that we are only just seeing. I was not expecting Grimmjow to just delete Luppi like that, but it makes sense he wanted his spot back immediately. Now the boys are finally heading to Hueco Mundo for real.

Those dads definitely have some history they are hiding and seeing Ryuken and Isshin together was so weird since Quincies and Soul Reapers usually have a blood feud

My head is spinning after that Luppi death because Grimmjow really just blew a hole through him the second he was at full strength and did not look back

The main trio is back together for the Hueco Mundo trip and they are moving out even though the Soul Society told them not to

I cannot get over Orihime bringing back a whole arm from nothing and Aizen is right about her power being scary because she literally just rejects reality

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 143 arrives at a critical juncture following the Soul Society's orders against rescuing Orihime in Episode 142, marking the moment where defiance becomes action as Ichigo, Uryū, and Sado prepare to breach Hueco Mundo. Grimmjow's resurgence raises the danger level considerably, reestablishing him as a major obstacle the rescue team will inevitably face. This episode bridges the planning phase and the full-scale Hueco Mundo invasion arc, serving as the narrative launchpad for one of Bleach's most consequential stretches.
