A very exciting fight against Hollow and Menos Grande! Ichigo's power here seems limitless. Ishida also finally has the courage to sacrifice himself. On the other hand, the soundtrack is also great, matching the feel of Bleach. I love this episode most so far!

I felt so bad for Uryu when he talked about his grandfather and how those Soul Reapers just let him die is actually disgusting

The way that massive giant just pulled the sky apart was terrifying and it totally changed the scale of everything we have seen so far

The scale of the Menos Grande was such a massive jump from the small fry usually seen on screen, and it is great how it forced Ichigo and Uryu to finally work together. Hearing about the Quincy extermination makes the Soul Society seem way more suspicious now. Uryu bleeding out his hands just to vent Ichigo's power was a huge testament to his character

That Menos Grande was really huge and seeing it tower over the buildings changed the whole vibe of the show for me and I loved the tension when Ichigo was losing control of his power at the end because it felt like a real consequence for trying to take on something that massive, and Uryu stepping up to save him was definitely a great moment

Uryu's story about his grandfather Soken made me feel so bad for him because the Soul Reapers just let him die while they watched from afar and it makes total sense why he hates Ichigo and the rest of them so much, and seeing him have to save Ichigo by firing all those arrows at the end was such a great moment

The plan to tie Ichigo's sword to Uryu's head was hilarious, especially since it happened right while that massive monster was staring them down and charging up a giant red laser beam

Watching Ichigo just boot Uryu in the ass to make him stop moping was hilarious and also kind of necessary. Sometimes you just need a good kick to realize that dying for a grudge is stupid

It actually made me feel sick seeing the Soul Reapers just stand by and let Soken get killed by Hollows. Uryu has every right to be bitter after they let his grandfather die like that

It was so cool when Uryu started firing those thousands of arrows into the sky to save Ichigo and I think the way it lit up the whole town like an aurora at the end was beautiful

Seeing that giant black hand rip open the sky was terrifying and then the Menos Grande just stepped out like it owned the place and made all those other hollows look like tiny ants

I am convinced Urahara knows way more than he is letting on because he just stood there with his fan while that giant monster was attacking everyone

Ichigo kicking Uryu in the butt to get him to stop moping was exactly what he needed to hear to finally focus on the actual fight

I was genuinely scared when that giant hand ripped open the sky and then the Menos Grande stepped out because the scale was just way bigger than any other hollow we have seen so far

Uryu tying Ichigo to his head like a battery was the funniest thing in this episode and it really broke the tension right before the giant hollow attacked them both

Learning about how the Soul Reapers actually hunted the Quincies to extinction explains so much about why Uryu is so bitter and alone in his fight against the hollows

That quiet moment at dawn where they finally stop arguing and just sit there in the grass was nice. They both went through hell tonight and now they finally have some respect for each other

I was legit terrified when those giant hands ripped the sky open. That black void is so ominous and it makes every other Hollow we have seen look like a total joke

That final scene with the sun coming up and the two of them just sitting there exhausted really showed how much their dynamic changed after surviving that giant monster together

Rukia looked absolutely terrified when she saw that monster in the sky and that told me everything I needed to know about how dangerous those things actually are for normal soul reapers

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 14 marks a critical escalation point following Orihime's spiritual awakening in Episode 13, shifting from individual character introductions to a larger-scale threat that tests the entire cast. The Ichigo-Uryū dynamic established here becomes foundational for the series going forward, planting seeds for alliances and conflicts that pay off across hundreds of episodes. This episode effectively closes out the early setup phase and transitions Bleach toward the deeper mythology and higher-stakes arcs that define the series.
