It is obviously not canon but the humor with Kon is way better here than in some of the actual serious arcs where he just gets ignored

I forgot how much I missed Kon being the main character and his freakout when he realized he was protecting a little girl from a two headed ghost dog was gold

The music at the end when everything gets resolved with Miyuki was actually really nice and fit the mood perfectly for a standalone story

Rangiku using Kon as a projectile to save a drowning kid really killed me, her logic is just on another level compared to everyone else

That two headed dog Hollow was such a weird concept for a monster and it made the fight feel way different than the usual soul reaper stuff

Rangiku really threw Kon into a plushie to save that girl and it was the funniest thing ever because only she would come up with something that lazy and effective

You can tell this is pure filler but the part where the Hollow turned out to be two dogs was actually kind of sad and sweet at the same time

Watching Kon get bullied by a little girl while trying to fight off a spirit dog is the kind of chaotic energy you only get in these early episodes

Kon actually being a hero for Miyuki for once was great even though he is usually just a pervy stuffed animal the whole time

Kon getting bullied by a child while he is trying to act like a tough soul reaper was the best way to handle a comedy episode

The plot where Kon gets trapped in a plushie is so silly, and Rangiku is the only one who seems to have a handle on how to fix the mess

Rangiku being so smart with the soul candy to save the drowning girl showed how competent she actually is when she wants to be

I was not expecting to enjoy a Kon episode this much but his interactions with that little girl were just ridiculous and fun

This filler actually works because it focuses on the comedy and seeing Kon get treated like a regular doll by a kid was funny

Rangiku being the main focus made this filler worth watching and she really showed why she is the best girl with how she handled the soul candy

That little girl was the most frustrating character ever and seeing her put everyone in danger over a toy was annoying as hell

I usually skip the fillers, but I am glad I watched this one for Rangiku because she was great throughout the whole thing. The way she handled the soul candy and basically manipulated the situation to save everyone was so her. Kon being a total disaster in that plushie body made for some great unintentional humor while he tried to act tough

I could not stop laughing at Kon being a tiny plushie hero while the girl just treated him like a toy

Kon in a stuffed animal body trying to save that kid from the hollow was pure comedy and it made the whole filler worth it

This is one of those episodes you can skip if you only care about the manga plot but Kon getting bullied by Rangiku is always a good time regardless of the canon

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sandwiched between standalone filler episodes, this sits firmly in a comedic buffer zone separating major Arrancar arc developments. It follows 'The Beautiful Patissier, Yumichika!' (Episode 134), another character-driven filler, and directly precedes Episode 136, which snaps the narrative back to Hueco Mundo with significant main-arc stakes. Viewers can safely skip this without missing any continuity relevant to the core storyline.
