I actually cried at the Shota and Yui stuff and I am so mad because this is literally just a filler episode

Toshiro acting all cold and serious during that decision reminded me why he became a captain so young

Rangiku actually getting to show off her skills with Haineko, even against some clones, felt really good to me; I'm always happy to see her get some spotlight and prove she's more than just a pretty face.

These Arrancar clones felt like such a weak threat compared to what we saw in the last few episodes

I was impressed by how Rangiku handled those clones because she usually just sits around and drinks

I actually didn't mind this filler episode since it gave Rangiku a chance to shine for once. Seeing her use Haineko to take out those clones was pretty cool, and Hitsugaya stayed true to his cold nature with that decision he made. It doesn't move the story forward at all, but it was nice to spend more time with the squad

If you want to see Rangiku in action, this is a decent watch, but the story is just filler fluff

The way Rangiku swept through those three enemies was the only part of this episode that felt meaningful

Skip this one if you only care about the manga because it adds nothing to the actual plot and just stalls for time

you have to wonder why the soul society even exists if they struggle this much against a single soul that they should be able to track easily

I honestly do not get why they had to make the enemies invisible to spiritual pressure, because it feels like it breaks the rules of the whole show just for a side story and I still think the part where Hitsugaya finally stops holding back and just handles the situation is great, but the setup with Shota and Yui is just okay.

Even though the kids are a bit annoying, the scene where we find out what happened to yui is actually really sad and makes the filler worth it.

it makes me so annoyed when the writers decide characters suddenly cant use their basic sensing powers just to drag out a fight with a weak hollow

watching shota cry over his sister really makes the filler feel more grounded and sad compared to the weird fight logic going on with the invisible enemies
izayoi_259's avatar

the title of this episode is way more intense than what actually happened because hitsugaya just did his job against some random hollow and it barely felt like a huge choice

you could probably skip this and not miss anything since the plot about the invisible hollow feels like it ignores how soul reapers are supposed to work anyway

i really liked seeing hitsugaya actually do something cool after all the talking and him wiping the field at the end was the only thing that saved this for me

that moment when yui disappeared in front of shota was actually pretty depressing even for a filler episode and it made the whole thing feel much heavier

seeing the soul reapers struggle to find a basic enemy because they suddenly cannot sense spiritual energy is a total mess and makes them look so weak for no reason

It was cool to see Hitsugaya use his ice on that many enemies at once but the talking just went on and on for way too long

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 130 sits within a stretch of filler content and continues a storyline introduced in Episode 129 involving a shape-shifting Arrancar threatening Hitsugaya's team in the World of the Living. It deepens the emotional and strategic stakes before leading directly into Episode 131, 'Rangiku's Tears, the Sorrowful Parting of Brother and Sister,' which promises an even heavier emotional payoff to this mini-arc.
