The internal struggle for control really got to me this time and seeing Ichigo so scared of his own soul was a lot to take in because that hollow is ruthless, and seeing him mock Ichigo for being a weak horse while he wants the crown makes the stakes feel so much heavier than just another training arc, which is exactly what he needed

I think the inverted colors on the Hollow version of Zangetsu look incredibly cool and it makes that whole inner world fight feel way more dangerous than anything he faced in the Soul Society arc It feels like he is finally addressing the part of himself that he feared the most and seeing him slowly get covered by that bone material is terrifying to watch
