The new villains seem to hate each other already because Grimmjow and Ulquiorra clearly cannot stand being in the same room together

Grimmjow has the coolest character design yet and you can already tell he is going to be a complete problem for the soul reapers with that attitude

The scene between Orihime and Rangiku felt really sad but the weird focus on Rangiku instead of the emotional weight really ruined the mood of the conversation

I thought we were done with Aizen but seeing him show up like that actually changed everything for me and he is way more of a threat than I realized

Aizen using his subordinates as literal cameras shows how much he actually cares about them and that eye scene was just gross

Grimmjow has such a wild presence and seeing him finally start his assault on the town makes the stakes feel so much higher for Ichigo

It was mostly just people talking and walking around but that ending with Grimmjow and his crew arriving in the human world was enough to make you forget the slow parts

Seeing Grimmjow arrive with his whole squad was intense, and it makes you realize how much trouble Ichigo is in, even if they just got there

Orihime’s heartbreaking honesty about feeling like she’s being left in the dust compared to Ichigo, it really made me empathize with her long-standing struggle to be useful. I can't imagine how crushing it must feel to constantly see everyone else power up while you feel stuck, especially when all she wants is to protect the people she cares about.

It felt like a bit of a slow burn with all the talking and standing around, but the payoff at the end was worth it. Grimmjow just showing up and looking for a fight is exactly what this arc needs right now. Seeing Aizen back on screen reminded me how much of a threat he actually is, even when he is just sitting there

The pacing was definitely on the slower side tonight but the introduction of the Arrancars made it feel like the real war is finally starting

Aizen watching everyone from that throne gives me the creeps and seeing that Arrancar just rip out his own eyeball to show him the recording was so metal

Gin just standing there in the background with that suspicious smile makes you wonder if he is really on board with everything Aizen is planning or has his own agenda

Watching Aizen lead that meeting in the desert palace reminds you how much of a threat he actually is now that he has an entire army of spirits under him

I am really impressed by the new Arrancar designs and the sheer size of Las Noches because it makes the threat feel so much bigger and more real

It was a pretty slow episode since there was so much talking and setup but seeing Grimmjow take his crew to the human world at the end made it worth the wait. I really liked how he just completely ignored Ulquiorra to go do his own thing, and it shows how chaotic this new group is compared to the regular hollows

You could really feel the tension in the room when Grimmjow was calling out Ulquiorra for letting Ichigo live and it sets up a great rivalry between them

Rangiku definitely knew what she was doing when she started unbuttoning her shirt to stay at Ichigo's house, and it was such a classic move from her to get her way
shussebora_56's avatar

That conversation between Rangiku and Orihime made me feel so bad for her because she is struggling with her feelings for Ichigo and her own weakness

Grimmjow is such a menace for defying Ulquiorra and taking his own team to the living world just to finish what the others started

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the Soul Reapers' arrival in the previous episode, Episode 116 strategically shifts perspective to flesh out the Arrancar threat from within, giving Aizen's forces dimension before the inevitable clash. This is a canon pivot point that contextualizes the power structure viewers will be watching shatter over the coming episodes. It bridges the early Arrancar encounters with the larger-scale confrontations building on the horizon.
